CATS IN A BOAT CHILDREN'S BOOK

 Cats in a Boat is a fun book created for children. It is a silly, whimsical story with a theme of using common sense. The script and the illustrations were created in a collage format. I prepared the pages by cutting 8x10 pieces of canvas and painting them on both sides with white acrylic paint. I usually iron them to smooth out the wrinkles. then with torn tissue paper and diluted white glue I created a background on each page. I also iron the pages again on back side to make smooth. The images are all cut paper and markers. The boat is cardboard. The words and extra designs were stamps. View all the pages below. I hope this book makes you smile. Read it to a child! thanks

JUST SMILE CHILDREN'S BOOK

Just Smile is was created in 2023. It is intended for young children and creatives of all ages. The brief process is as follows: 

Write a short poem. Cut canvas or heavy fabric into 8x10 inch pieces. Paint each one with white latex paint. When dry paint the back. Let dry. Create a collage with torn tissue paper. Apply to a page with diluted white glue. When dry add more tissue adding to the design. Add words with stamps or cut out letters or hand written letters. Add more design with markers, stamps and more tissue. Enjoy and create your own books!
